Kevin Aoki
Kevin Kenso Aoki, 58, of Hilo, died April 16, 2022 at his residence. Born June 5, 1964, in Kohala, he was principal broker and proprietor of Property Professionals Hawaii, LLC in Hilo, a founding member and vice president of the National Association of Residential Property Managers (East Hawaii Chapter), and member of Hawaii Island Realtors, Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Hilo Hongwanji Preschool building campaign, Hui Okinawa, Hilo Yacht Club, Hawaii Island Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, South Pohakulani Kumiai and the Last Sunday Golf Club.
Friends may call at 2 p.m. May 16 at Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin; memorial service at 4 p.m. Inurnment will be held at 10 a.m. May 17 Homelani Memorial Park in Hilo. Casual attire is requested.
He is survived by daughters, Lauren Aoki of Colorado and Karlynn Aoki of Hilo; mother, Annie Aoki of Hilo; brothers, Clyde (Donna) Aoki and Keith (Estelle) Aoki, all of Hilo; sister, Cynthia (Leroy Lareau III) Aoki-Lareau of Honolulu; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, grandnephew and grandniece.

Thomas Malendres Jr.
Thomas “Tommy” Malendres Jr., 83, of Hilo, died April 3 at his residence. Born in Hilo, he was a retired cane truck driver for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., a retired heavy equipment operator with Jas W. Glover and was also a member of Connect Point Church and a U.S. Navy and Army National Guard veteran.
Friends may call for visitation from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 12 at Connect Point Church in Hilo. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Committal services noon May 13 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Pavilion. Casual attire; no flowers.

Nazir Bendeck
Nazir “Willy” Bendeck, 69, of Hilo, died April 16, 2022 at Pohai Malama. Born in 1952, he was a salesman at Cardinal Mailing, worked for the Yellow Pages, belonged to the Gideon International Bible Society, and was a member of the First Assembly of God Honolulu and the Hilo Church Of God.

He is survived by wife, Lizabeth Bendeck of Hilo; brothers, Richard Bendeck and Charles Bendeck, both of Honolulu; and several cousins.

Linda Fountain
Linda May Leilani Fountain, 80, of Hilo and formerly of Honolulu, died March 4, 2022 at her residence. Born on Kauai in 1941, she managed the 1223 Wilder Avenue property for almost 40 years, was employed at Moiliili Community Center, Rancho Produce, and retired from Hawaiian Beauty Products.

She is survived by daughters, Feli Richrdson Shoaf, Annette Johansen, and Clara Alvarez; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Cale Yamauchi
Cale Kaanoe Yamauchi, 48, of Hilo, died March 21, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 3, 1974, in Honolulu, he was a power mower operator for the County of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation, fisherman and rancher.

Robert Yoshimi Ouye, 91, of Hilo, died April 22, 2022 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born April 10, 1931, in Umauma (Hakalau), he retired from the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. as a mechanic and was a member of the Honomu Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and Piihonua Kumiai.

John Cesare Pini, 74, of Pepeekeo, died April 16, 2022 at Pohai Malama. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he was a retired electrician for Amtrak, a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Carmen Denise Wright, 51, of Keaau, died April 24, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Los Angeles, she was a retired accountant.

Patricia Salmon
Patricia Ann Salmon, 88 of Hilo died May 2, 2022 in Kailua-Kona. Born May 30, 1933, in Houston, Texas, she was a Pan American Airlines flight attendant, a radio and TV personality, started the first western charm school and modeling agency, wrote a regular fashion column in a daily newspaper in Tokyo, owned an antique shop and wrote a book about antiques.

She is survived by brother, Bill Salmon, of Texas; niece, Cindy Fong of Hilo and hanai nephew Douglas Akagi of Kailua-Kona.
